How do you show your teacher you love her?
You make her these red velvet cookies in the shape of a heart. They were divine. Bonus-she made them herself.
The end of the school year is always too much. We have too many things to do and too many forms to fill out. Parents may get in a last minute complaint or two. A few kids try to fix a year’s worth of slacking by begging for extra credit. Seriously.
However, it is also a time when kids like this one show that they really appreciate what we did this year. It makes the job fun and a little bittersweet. I will miss my students, and I hope they are all safe and sound over the summer.
It was a great school year.
