Grape salad-side dish or dessert?
On one hand, it is clearly a salad as stated in its name. Thus, it has to be a side.
On the other hand, it is sweet. Dessert? Possibly.
Maybe it’s a side dessert. I like to eat my grape salad once I have cleaned my plate but before the official dessert.
This debate could rage forever.
Here’s the recipe. No matter when/how you serve it, this is an easy dish, and it is goo-oood.
A bunch of firm grapes. Red or white or both washed and picked off the stems
A block (8 oz.) of cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup pecans
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
Mix the cream cheese and the sugar. Gently fold in the grapes. Mix gently. Spread into a casserole. Mix the brown sugar and pecans. Spread over the grape mixture. Chill.
